Deborah Marshall In what way? Correcting a glaring factual error in a so-called "informational" video is "preachy?" What should I have said instead? "Sorry to be a bother, but I think there might be something that's kinda sort of a little maybe incorrect in your video?"

Donna Joy I don’t understand why people get so pissy when you pointed out something factual and not at all derisive of the artist himself. I cringed hard when the video suggested his teeth affected his vibrato and thankfully you dispelled that. Some people would rather stay ignorant, I guess?

Wes Goodman vibrato is created by the air that passes through the vocal cords. The diaphragm itself does not create vibrato. In singing, the role of the diaphragm is to create steady, consistent air flow and support but it’s the movement of the vocal cords that actually change that air flow into a vibrato. People’s vocal cords vibrate differently so we tend to have different vibratos (some are fast and fluttery and others are more slow and wide). But, no, the diaphragm does not create the vibrato itself. When two of my fully grown wisdom teeth were removed, my resonance changed drastically and as a result, my overall sound changed. It lasted a few months till the cavities healed. By the time he was earning enough to fix them, changing the sound of his already established voice could have had far reaching implications. He may have been unable to create certain sounds in songs already recorded and any he recorded with his ‘temporary sound’ might not have been repeatable once healed. Food for thought.
