There is a difference between maximum magnification and maximum useful magnification. AmScope often quotes very high maximum magnification, but you will not be happy with the image quality at the maximum. Try it, and see what you think. The 0.5× Barlow lens will give you a wider field of view and a longer working distance. The 2× Barlow lens might let you see a bit more detail. As Lance said, probably best to forget the 20× eyepieces, but try them and see what you think. A stereo microscope is ideal for use with a Petri dish.
